My BEST friend in the world was a carpenter who asked us if he could finish building our house. We said sure we'd be glad to have you finish it. That was a huge mistake that cost my boyfriend and me $2,000. Like idiots, we gave into him when he asked us for the money in advance. He said he would be finished with the work by the end of the week.
Well, unknown to us, he was planning on leaving his wife for another woman and leaving the state. One of the last things he did was to pick up our money, and we never saw him again. We were hurt and in shock, not to mention broke. As a result we have a hard time trusting ANYONE, friend or not.
