There are various lip sores causes but the condition itself is known as Angular Cheilitis. Millions of people worldwide suffer from lip sores and it is a difficult condition to treat. Conventional treatment might include hydrocortizone cream or iron supplements but these approaches usually only offer short term symptomatic relief-if at all.

Persistent dampness around the lips, which is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria is one of the main lip sores causes. Once the bacteria has taken hold, it is notoriously difficult to eradicate and very often will develop into a fungal infection. Indeed, once the infection has progressed from chapped lips to lesions around the mouth edges, this is usually a sign that it will be there o a semi-permanent basis.

Although not life-threatening, the day to day pain from lip sores can be debilitating and have severe effects on the sufferer's quality of life. Moreover, the appearance of Angular Cheilitis can often be a source of embarrassment.

The source of the dampness can be ill-fitting dentures or braces or drooling caused by pen biting or finger sucking. Removing these lip sores causes can be a good starting point for treatment. Simply getting dentures or braces adjusted can help, as can deterring biting/sucking by painting the offending object with a bitter substance such as vinegar. Of course, one of the key aims of treatment is to get to the root cause and eliminate it, and killing off the bacteria is really the way forward. This can be done quickly and effectively by starving the bacteria of oxygen which means that it cannot survive.

If you have had cracked lip corners or scabs for more than a couple of days, it is likely that the condition has taken hold. If you would like to look at pictures that can help you verify your own condition, you can download this simple and effective overnight cure from the Angular Chelitis Foundation. This cure will dry out the condition within hours, providing fast and permanent relief.

Avon Moisture Therapy Moisturizing Lip Treatment is amazing. Similar to Chap Stick, only lots better. It has SPF 15, too.You can get it off e-bay and have it at your door in 2-3 days with Priority shipping. That's what I do.
Carmex is another good one. I'm surprised Vaseline didn't do the trick. Usually does okay for me. I have to agree that you might not be getting enough water and/or need to take a multi-vitamin.
It could be your environment is too dry. Try sleeping with a humidifier near your bed and see if that helps. Worked wonders for me. I sleep with my humidifier on every night.

  5. QUESTION:
    Best makeup for me skin!?:)?
So I'm really bored... Right now I'm usually answering other people's question's, but I got bored after the fifth one today....

I've ALWAYS had problems with my skin and finding the best makeup. Period.

I need to know what the best foundation is - liquid, pressed/loose powder, and/or tinted moisturizer - I have oily skin in the T-zone, flaky everywhere else. My skin in super, pale/fair. SUPER. I don't hate my skin, I just hate the fact that I have yet to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. And I've searched everywhere.

I need to know what the best blush is - cream or powder. I don't know why, I just can't find the perfect color that is noticeable, just not too noticeable. I don't want to look a vampire or a clown. I heard that blush and hair color work together somehow...? So, my hair color is red/auburn. It gets more red in the summer, more auburn in the winter. I really, really want to try the cream blush - I think that it would work better for my skin, and I just want to try something new...

I need to know what the best lip color is - lip stain, lip gloss, tinted lip balm, or lipstick. My lips get chapped super easily. I have to have chapstick with me at all times. It's also hard for me to find a color with my fair skin and red hair. I don't want it to look bad, clearly...

Feel free to answer all three or just the ones that you know. I really need to know because I'm sick of having pretty much no confidence even though, supposedly, people want pretty much everything I have. I don't understand why...

You help is greatly needed and appreciated. Thanks in advance!:)
Best makeup for my skin!?:) lmao...
My skin is ONLY oily in the T-zone. Everywhere else (including my cheeks) is flaky/dry.

    • ANSWER:
ok first try cover girl pressed powder they have really light colors for your fair skin, and i wouldn't use cream blush if you have oily skin, it will make you break out. and choose a rosy or coral color and for you lips i would try ter lip stains i think they are cover girl too and get it in a peachy, light rosey color or coral-ish color. just look for lip products in those shades.

Chapped lips:The nutritional characteristics of honey make it an amazing healing and anti-bacterial agent. Similarly, Vaseline is considered one of the best skin protectants. When these two items are combined, you have an effective home remedy for chapped lips:
Put some honey on your lips let it dry for a few seconds.
Without moving your lips, apply some Vaseline on top of the lips.
Leave the honey and Vaseline on your lips for 10-15 minutes.
Finally, dip a Q-tip dip in hot water and use it to remove the honey and Vaseline in two strokes.
Do this once a day for about 2-5 days to get rid of chapped lips.

    Covergirl smoothers concealer
Loreal magic smooth souffle foundation mousse
Tiny bit of pink cream blush
Mascara on the tips of my eyelashes (best y eyelashes are kinda blonde)
    And lip chap.

    Is that too much?

And I really do need the foundation / concealer, because my skin is really bad... Like blemishes and discoloation...

    • ANSWER:
As long as you don't cake it on I personally think that is fine. The less makeup you put on the healthier your skin will be though. I am fifteen years old and I probably didn't use that much makeup at your age but everyone is different. It is good to wear the least amount of makeup possible to help you get ready quickly and to feel good about yourself even if you don't have much makeup on.

  10. QUESTION:
How to ask and convince mom?
    Hi,

Although I am a 27 years old boy (should say 'man'), the culture I have been brought up in still ties me emotionally to my parents, especially my mother, who has done a lot for me.

I have always asked her everything I did and there's no secret that I don't share with her, every little thing she is aware of. She has given me enough freedom in teens, yet the culture and values she taught me never took me to any wrong path ever.

Now, coming to the problem :)
I like to keep myself clean and have my cleavage clean shaved. Tried with a razor, but ended up getting rough surface and don't want to damage my chest. So, I want to use a hair removal cream. I used Veet once and found that it helps keep the skin smooth.

Now, I am hesitant to go and tell her that I am (or want to use a HRC [Hair Removal Cream]), because of some problems I discuss below. Now, the reason I want to "tell" this to her is that if she suddenly finds the cream in my cupboard one fine day, she will cultivate wrong things about me in her mind. She is understanding, but today itself she said to me that boys should not use a Lip Guard (the usual winter care lip guard), because boys are supposed to be rough and tough, only girls should use a Lip Guard, which I did not agree and quarelled about, because firstly I had seen an advertise in which it was clearly shown that for the chapped lips of a MAN, the lip guard was advertised. Secondly, I believe that winter does not discriminate between a man and a woman and if lips of a man are chapped, there is no issue in using a product that is meant for chapped lips. She is okay if I use petroleum gelly, and even I have no issues using it, but basically, I want to eradicate the belief system she carries about me - that I am enticed towards female products. (By the grace of God, they invented Fair & Lovely for MEN, so I use it openly)

Now, I can definitely wait for her to "find" the HRC in my cupboard one fine day, but then, what reason do I tell her?

I don't want to fight with her or tell her that she should not interfere in my private body things, because I know she only cares for me, but then I also feel that she should really give me freedom in such things and should not assume or cultivate wrong beliefs about me in her mind. I am not doing this for any wrong reason and the reason I want to let her know this frankly is because I will be completely free and comfortable in using it and will not have to hide it and do something secretly. If I tell her, she may not agree and start assuming me wrong. You know typical moms right?

Now, my question is that am I right in firstly having this belief that a clean chest is good? Or is it really not required? If yes, how should I go and tell her, with what reason? If not, do you think I should simply stop doing this? Another best way out would be going for a laser hair removal treatment for around Rs. 5K and just be out of the hassle or maintaining and hiding the HRC. But again, am I carrying the right beliefs? Or do you think hair on a man's body simply do not matter for any reason whatsoever? Totally confused.

    • ANSWER:
Body hair is a personal thing, everybody prefers something different. If you don't feel that it's wrong I wouldn't mention it, why make a big deal out of nothing. You sound very respectful of your mother, I'm sure she knows this and knows that she raised you right. I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh and I tried to call the 800 number on the tube but no one answered..please don't think ima freak..lol

    • ANSWER:

I know its hives. Not sure what caused it. But I'm miserable...I'm doing my best not to scratch it but its on my lips, so I cant even lick them or put chap stick on them to keep my lips from drying out...

How quickly do hives go away and whats a good solution for at least making it get off my lips? I'm dying here! (I've tried oatmeal and I can't put anti-itch cream ON my lips..
Ive been to the hospital, and they told me to leave because it wasnt an emergency. I haven't tried any new foods, detergents, ect and have not been outside to get poison ivy...

    • ANSWER:
holy clap! hives are usually from some type of allergic reaction, you should really try to find out what it was so you can AVOID it the next time. 5 days is a really long time for hives. Maybe its chicken pox!!??? Cool baths always helped me. Also try Benedryl but be cool with it cuz ull fall asleep fast.

  14. QUESTION:
    Acne, aging and tanning questions!?
Alright, so my first question is about acne. I am a 17 year old girl and unfortunately I suffer from acne. It's not horrible, but it is enough to make me really self-concious about my skin. I'll get a few, (maybe 1-3) whiteheads every month and they are very difficult to get rid of an cover up. They might last for just over a week sometimes. Usually I don't get acne on my cheeks but a lot of times it is around and over my mouth or on my chin and between my eyebrows. My skin tends to dry out really easily using acne products even though I moisturize every morning and night. I even get chapped lips really easily and I drink a TON of water. (any great things to use for chapped lips, vaseline tends to work best but then I sometimes break out around my mouth) I used to use salicylic acid products and now I am using glycolic acid. Sometimes I will just just little bumps, but a lot of times they are really under the skin and stubborn. The acne is really hurting my self-esteem! What kind of products should I use?

My next question is about anti-aging products and what age to start. My sister is 19 and she is worried that she is already getting wrinkles, mainly on her forehead and uses this regenerist cream. What age is normal to start using anti-aging products. She is very young but when I do look closely I can see lines.

Next question is about tanning. Does anyone know of any good products to use during the winter months? I get very pale and I don't want to use tanning beds or any of that stuff.

I know I asked a lot of questions! But I'd appreciate input on any of the subjects! Thanks guys!

    • ANSWER:
go see ur doctor bout acne problems
i think you are too young to use anti aging products id say 25 but i guess it depends on your skin
      go to a tanning salon

  15. QUESTION:
does this piece of my story sound good enough?
i wrote this thing in 7th grade. it's long, sorry, but please take time to read it. constructive criticism, please! thank you!

It was the strangest thing I had ever seen… possessing three hollow eyes… long, acute fangs sticking out of the tartness of an upper lip like pestilent spears… shiny, red blood dripping all over its nose and chin, glowing murderously in the moonlight. Long, barren, extremely hideous locks of yellow hair, all messed up about, concealing most of its features, making it a little over impossible for me to look up at it.
    A havoc of a face.
Its clawed hands raised, ready to strike me, its fingers blood-stained, each one retaining nails at least a meter long, chapped at the ends. Blood dripped from its fingers.
I was tied mercilessly against some tree trunks, my legs sprawled on the bloody grass, with no feeling left in them. I couldn’t scream. I couldn’t move, let alone pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t having a nightmare… I shut my eyes, wanting to disappear, longing to find myself out in the ice-cream café with my best friends. If I had to experience death, why look at it in the face?
I felt the nails touch the skin under my left eye, puncturing it, making yet more blood drip… and drip…
Any minute now, I was going to stop existing. I was going to be in that hell-like creature’s stomach, in god knows what form.
My vision started blurring. I felt like throwing up. My head throbbed, not to mention my left cheek feeling as though it was boiling. I felt pain surpassing the borders of my imagination, excelling all painful memories of my past. I didn’t even know what real pain was then. And I wished I wasn’t discovering it now.
I felt the breath burn my skin, the hands bind my neck, nails digging ruthlessly into it. I couldn’t breath at all. I tried to scream, but nothing, not even a groan let its way out. I was thwarted, dead. couldn’t even think anymore…

    • ANSWER:
It's good, but sometimes it seems almost as if you've killed the synonym tool on MS + some parts lack reality.
For example - thwarted - well you know what it means. Thwarted and dead together mean practically the same thing, why use it twice?
If she couldn't even think anymore, then she wouldn't be able to write that ... sort of? Idk.
Near death = panic - she wouldn't be observing everything in such close detail. Earlier on, my sister showed me a snippet of Hollyoaks later. This girl's parachute didn't open, and as she fell the earth's surface at god know's how fast, all she could do was scream "someone help me". Obviously, no one could've helped her, but she still screamed it.
I just think that you need to reconsider the situation, otherwise your writing style is fairly good.
      I hope this helped.

    • ANSWER:
Man to man... Hair is normal... You will find some women that like it and some that don't. Do what you want for YOU and no one else. If you like hairless go hairless otherwise don't worry about it.

Personally I use a mustache trimmer and keep my body hair trim (about a number 4 comb) But hey thats me... and I have never had a problem with women finding chest hair as a bad thing. Just be your self (and Mom dose not have to know everything... hell your 27)
