Because of the sheer amount of exposure that our hands must endure, they grow dry and even cracked. Finding a hand cream that can treat this condition effectively is one of the more difficult part of treating them. Using a hand cream that is little more than a basic moisturizer with a new sales pitch is not going to get the job done, and ultimately will costs you hundreds of dollars. If you know what to look for in a hand cream, you can treat your dry hands effectively and rapidly and at minimum expense to you, but you have to know what you are looking for. As with all cosmetics the easiest and most effective way to evaluate their quality is by taking a closer look at their ingredients.

Ingredients are the tell tale story of a hand cream. The effective treatment of dry hands depends on the complete treatment of dry hands and damaged tissue as well as a complete repair of the protective or barrier layer of your skin. There are only a few ingredients that can accomplish this task efficiently enough to work in a hand cream. For this reason, your search begins there.

Super Sterol Liquid is a cholesterol based ingredient that has proven to effectively repair dry, damaged skin while simultaneously replenishing your skins natural protective layer. Regular day to day activity can strip your skin of the essential oils and nutrients needed to protect itself; Super Sterol replenishes those allowing your skin to heal itself rapidly, but also protect itself from future damage. Super Sterol Liquid is highly effective in the treatment of dry hands and should definitely be included in your hand cream.

Licorice Root Extract is a name that is known to many of us due to its use in candy. Licorice has a distinct flavor that many of us recognize right away, but licorice has many other uses some of which are fantastic in the treatment of dry hands. Licorice penetrates the skin treating the inflammation and irritation common with dry hands at the source. By relieving this rapidly our skin is able to function more effectively and heal itself rapidly. Many hand creams neglect this important aspect in the treatment of dry hands, do not make the same mistake with your next hand cream.

Hand creams not only treat dry hands, but they can also be treated for premature aging as well. These quality hand creams will not only focus on the treatment of dry hands, but they will also provide a complete anti aging experience as well. Ingredients such as Matrixyl to treat wrinkles with the same power as the worlds best wrinkle creams should jump out to you. Ferula Foetida Extract and Niacinamides can erase spotting and discoloration all naturally, and will wipe away sun spots and age spots with relative ease.

The best hand creams will provide a complete treatment for dry hands. It will repair dry hands and damaged tissue, renew the protective layer of your skin, soothe irritation as well as provide anti aging treatment of wrinkles and spotting. There is no need to use two different hand creams to accomplish what one should. Look for these ingredients before you purchase your next hand cream and you are sure to have found a winner.

  3. QUESTION:
My hands are wrinkling easily when exposed to water for only a couple minutes. Know a good hand cream?
Lately my hands have been easily wrinkling in the shower after only a minute or two. That is never happened to me before. I am not quite sure what caused this, but it started around a time I had worked on my car without gloves. I think it may have damaged the epidermis. Anyone have any ideas of what may be going on? Anyone know of any good hand creams that will buildup the keratin on the palms of my hands so they don't wrinkle so easily with exposure to water?

    • ANSWER:
When your skin getts wrinkly from water its because your skin is already dehyrated, replenish from the inside, drink lots of water and yes moisturise your hands. I dont think youve damaged your epidermis, just dried it out with the grease remover etc. Good idea to use a moisturiser, most will do the trick, so just pic your preference in smell and texture, lanolin, sorbolene, vitamin E, coco butter, they shought all sought it out, just watch though as some will feel a bit 'oilyer' than others.

  4. QUESTION:
My Hands Now Wrinkle In Water?
When I was young(0-9) my hands and feet use to wrinkle, then all of a sudden my hands and feet stopped getting wrinkly(10-13) and I was like "Yes!" Now maybe a week ago(13) my hands and feet starting to wrinkle again. I first thought it was because I was using this cream for my hands and I read one of the side effects being "Thinning Of Skin." But that wouldn't make sense of why my feet are getting wrinkly too... *Also the numbers are ages
I'm not trolling, I use to be able to stay in a pool for 4 hours and not get wrinkly now I go for a 10 minute shower and my hands get wrinkly. It only takes maybe 10 minutes to go back to normal...

  5. QUESTION:
Do you have a hard time deciding on which cosmetics to use?
Tanners or moisturizers, wrinkle creams or repair creams, sunscreens or eye creams, daytime creams or night creams, foot and hand creams, celluit creams...

Seems like the cosmetic world wants us to spend all our time on creaming ourselves for nothing. Sometimes, I find myself drawn into the cosmetic world by attractive commercials like "Use this cream for your elbows" "Use this one for your eyes" "Use this on your celluits" "This cream is perfect for aging" "This body cream will make your skin super smooth" But then I realize I can't do that for life! Man, it's a lot of time and money. So, now I only use a moisturizer with spf on my face and tanner on my legs and arms in summers.

I wonder what other women use and how they feel about cosmetics.

    • ANSWER:
I feel the same way you do; I mean if a cream is good for your feet, it should be good for the rest of your skin, right?

I did a bit of research a few years ago, and I ended up buying pure shea butter. I have used it religiously and exclusively (no other creams) for 4 years. My skin looks great. I have no dry patches, my face never breaks out and I can even use it for a hair gel. 1lb. of shea butter gets me through 9 months and it only cost (or about) per pound. That's a big savings when you consider the cost of skin creams and hair gels.

Do a google search on shea butter and see what I am talking about.

  6. QUESTION:
    hand cremes for ur hands.?
im 40 years old and im getting some little wrinkles on my hands. what kind of hand cream can i use to bring them up.

    • ANSWER:
Too much hand washing, add sun to the formula causes skin from aging. You're 40 years old, there is not much you can do to 'aged' hands.

Wear gloves for everything you do: paper - filled with toxic. Chores in the kitchen, garden, around the house - chemicals and dirt plus sun exposures can age the hands. During fall, winter & spring, wear leather gloves lined with thinsulate, to protect you from the environment.

Carry one everywhere you go a disposable gloves so you don't have to keep washing your hands, protects you from germs and from opening doors, or using the public restrooms, too!

If they're chapped, put Cetaphil lotion while your hands are still a bit damp, then wear cotton gloves at night.

    • ANSWER:
Be gentle with your skin and it will go a long way in keeping it smooth and supple. Gently massage the face with glycerin-honey mixture. Dip a cotton pad in unbeaten egg white, and smooth it across wrinkles. Leave it on for an hour and remove it with a cotton dipped in ice-cold water. 12. QUESTION:
I am looking for an effective anti-ageing face and hand cream with retinol and vitamin C serum.?
I am 27 years old, and want something for my age to ward off any future wrinkles and lines. Any eddefctive/trustworthy brands?

    • ANSWER:
I don't like to use retinol products on my hands because I worry about retinol making my skin more vulnerable to sun damage. I'm not that diligent about applying SPF to my hands.

The tricky thing about vitamin C serums is that vitamin C degrades quickly. Stable products w/ high concentration vitamin C I've heard of carry a hefty price tag.

However, I can tell you about a couple of websites I use to research products: http://cosmeticscop.com/ & http://www.makeupalley.com/

The first site has an ingredient dictionary, product reviews & general information about skin care products, etc.

The second site is a free members only site for consumer to consumer reviews of all sorts of beauty products. I really like it & have been a member for about 3 years.

  13. QUESTION:
Why is it so hard to find this beauty item?
I'm finding it so hard to find a good hand cream or lotion with an SPF. Why is it so hard to find? I have tried one by Neutrogena and it is soooo sticky.

I found another but the SPF is 10 - it's nothing!!

Do I really need SPF for my hands?...I don't want them to wrinkle

    • ANSWER:
just put normal sunscreen on your hands. it doesnt need to say "for hands" on the bottle for it to work on your hands.

  15. QUESTION:
    Need a good eye cream!?
I lived my whole life in Texas and moved to Wisconsin last summer. This winter has been really hard on my skin and I have NO idea how to keep the skin around my eyes from getting dried out. I have literally tried every cream I own, which is a lot. The only thing that seems to work is an emollient hand cream but I know it's doing nothing for wrinkle prevention. AAHH! lol Help?
I've tried Estee Lauder, Lancome, Clinique, Mary Kay, etc...

Most of the recovery serums and creams I've seen are more for wrinkle repair or to prevent dark circles and/or puffiness. I just wondered if someone had some miracle cream...I'm ready to try just about anything.

  16. QUESTION:
What is the number 1 rated wrinkle cream?
I’m only 30 yrs. old and already am seeing fine lines and wrinkles on my forehead, under eyes and around my mouth. I know wrinkles come from the loss of collagen due aging. So my question is what affordable product is out in the market that can really help me. You can go to a store looking for the perfect cream and walk out of there with nothing at hand and so confused. There is too many products out in the market that promise you beautiful flawless skin and non seem to deliver, I’ve used my share of products with no positive results. Of course we all know there is no such thing as a magic cream that will erase my problems away (wish there was) but is there something out there that can help minimize the wrinkles and/ or help produce collagen. I’m sure someone has found it.
I am only currently using a daily regimen of moisturizer with SPF. I know it’s not enough so I want to start using a wrinkle cream again, before it only gets worse. Is there anyone out there that can truly recommend a product that actually delivers what they promise? Please Help

    • ANSWER:
Consumer Reports, the most reliable and totally trusted tester of products recently tested 16 skin firming, anti wrinkle, anti aging products many containing alpha hydroxy (and found to be skin hazardous) and no matter the price - the most expensive one being - all failed to even noticeably have any effect. A low cost over the counter basic moisturizing cream that was also included in the tests was found to be JUST AS EFFECTIVE as those products. It clearly proves that those products are SCAMS. Can you help me figure out the author to this poem?
I am pretty sure it is called Stubborn Woman, and the author is one of the ones from Authors In Depth: Bronze Level.
All i remember is the poem itself is about a woman who is very old and should not be walking outside because she is in such poor condition. The narrator says she wears thick heeled pumps i believe, and says she needs to get "Listerine, that new hand cream for wrinkles, mints, and cologne, if it's on sale" It is a four stanza poem with 19 lines.

Amazing, i remember all of this about it but cant even recall if the author is a male or female.

But i have a feeling it is a male, if that helps.

Are the anti-wrinkle eye creams safe for people my age? Thank you

  24. QUESTION:
Is There A Way Of Making My Hands Look Younger?
    Hi there,

OK, I say I would like to make my hands look "younger" but I am, in fact, 29.

I have OCD and one of my rituals consist of over-washing my hands - I realise that this is the main contributing factor towards my hand condition. The other issue is, I work in a factory where I get dirty all the time so, obviously, there is an even greater need to wash my hands; that and the fact that they get very dry when it's cold. It gets cold in there A LOT!

I've used barrier creams at work, hand lotion during the evening and night cream for the ... well, night, I guess, LOL. I don't know what else to do but my hands look awful now. They are not only dry-looking but they are wrinkled and gross. Not just around my knuckles but all the way down my fingers. I hate it! It's getting to a point where I'm almost embarrassed to have my hands on view - as stupid as it sounds.

    I'm a 29 year-old female with OLD MAN hands!

Please, if you know of anything, could you give me some advice? I try not to wash them so often but clearly I'm having trouble with that. I can't change where I work and what I do there.

I can't think of anything more that I can do.

    • ANSWER:
Rub Vaseline all over your hands at night, insert them in mittens or gloves & take them off in the morning then shower....should repair your skin.

    • ANSWER:
Beautiful, it seems very timeless (pun intended).

The only thing I'd take out or change is "stroked with expired yellow paint". It doesn't really fit in with the description of her soft, old skin and takes a new vibrant turn that may surprise and confuse the readers.

Or maybe I'm not thinking deeply and it means something.

    • ANSWER:
I love the theme of this poem because it touches me personally and it's a universal idea, which I think poetry should be most of the time. It's good to see you writing and expressing yourself so well. I'm not good at brutal and it would serve no purpose. Most important thing about this poem is how I can see you thinking when you write. Sure, I could change a line or two around. Maybe make it better, maybe not. This is a keeper. (Hint). I like this enough that I would have to reblog it given an opportunity to do so.

I like this as much or more than I liked "Jungle Hair".

      P.S.
After reading this I'm considering that I might stop dying my hair gray. What do you think of the idea?

    • ANSWER:
OK, first of all: there is NO such thing as a Botox cream. Whoever told you that there was Botox in the cream they sold you was flat-out lying to your face. Second, there ARE a number of treatment options that are available to you to help manage your sweaty hands and feet (medically, the terms are palmar and planter hyperhidrosis). What you need to do it visit the International Hyperhidrosis Society at www.SweatHelp.org. 28. QUESTION:
please help: best wrinkle treatment out there?
    hey guys

im only 20 years old but am already seeing signs of aging. My mother did not age gracefully so im looking to fight my genetics with a good quality product. My hands are the worst, they are covered with lines..

money isnt really an issue, i want the best quality product i can get. I heard that prototype 37-C was the best wrinkle treatment out there but some sites claim its a scam, its also very pricy (0.00 was the cheapest price i could find). Their website also does not offer free samples.

i was wondering if any of you tried Prototype 37-C? Did you get results with it? I want to use the very best wrinkle cream i can get to ensure results and prevent future lines/wrinkles. I also heard Strivecton was good? Did any of you get good results with that? Im looking for something to go around my eyes and on my cheeks. Also, do collagen vitamins work? Should i take vitamin e? (orally)

any other info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

premature wrinkling on hands and feet?
I'm 23 and have had deep wrinkles on my hands and feet since my teen years. Here's a pic to give a good idea of what my hands look similar to http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3191/2908196682_392c09b816.jpg?v=0 It's very embarrassing when people look at my hands and rudely exclaim that they look like they belong to a 50 year old! I don't sunbathe, although I do smoke, but the wrinkling began to appear before that. I use Aveeno (which seems to help, but only temporarily). I've had Keratosis Pilaris since birth and for those who don't know what that is...it's almost like permanent goose bumps. http://www.visualdxhealth.com/images/dx/webChild/keratosisPilaris_22404_med.jpg Still, I haven't seen premature wrinkling on anyone with this disorder (except myself). Are there any good creams out there that will minimize or even erase wrinkles?

  31. QUESTION:
What could be wrong with my hand?
I'm not sure whats wrong with my skin but on only one of my hands i have extremely dry skin. I apply very expensive hand cream to my hands a few times everyday and after applying it, the dry skin isn't too bad but as soon as i wash my hands my skin gets extremely dry again. It's so dry that my hand looks like it's very old and very wrinkley. it's so dry that i always have a lot of lines and wrinkles that don't go away anymore...even right after applying lotion. Sometimes if i'm doing dishes and don't put lotion on all day, they get so dry that they become really stiff like i can't put my hand flat on a table without feeling my skin stretching and sometimes my skin even cracks open and i'll have cuts on my fingers around my knuckle area.

Does anyone know what could be wrong with my hand? (I had this for about 1-2 years now but it just keeps getting worse)

    Thanks for the help!

    • ANSWER:
There are creams out there that can help get rid of your stretch marks, but you need to find the right one.

I found this on the site I put in the source box below:

Things to look for in a stretch mark cream

There are a lot of creams and ointments out there that claim to remove stretch marks. The best way to fight stretch marks is to increase your skins flexibility before your stretch marks start appearing by using a topical cream on the area before the skin starts to show stretch marks. If you already have stretch marks, hope is not lost. There are creams out there that contain ingredients that help heal the skin while minimizing scar tissue.

Some of the key ingredients that you will want to make sure your cream contains are:

      Vitamin A Palmitate

Vitamin A is an essential vitamin and is best known for having positive effects on vision. However Vitamin A is just as important to the largest organ; the skin.

Clinical studies have shown vitamin A to have properties that block the absorption of harmful UVA and UVB rays, as well as a stimulating effect on cell regeneration. It has been clinically shown to improve the appearance of striae (stretch marks) and regulate epidermal (skin) cell growth.

      Aloe Vera Extract

Aloe vera has been shown in clinical studies to have a positive effect on wound healing and holds anti-inflammatory properties.

As stretch marks start out as microscopic tears in skin layers due to overstretching of the dermis, aloe vera helps heal these small wounds without causing scar tissue to form, effectively preventing the appearance of stretch marks. Aloe vera has been used for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Indians and Chinese to decrease the appearance of scars and to moisturize and heal skin.

This extract from the aloe leaf protects skin from environmental factors and promotes skin regeneration.

      Grapefruit Seed Extract

Grapefruit seed extract is a natural antibiotic used for many different types of skin ailments. It is a powerful ingredient to aid in the healing of skin damage. Grapefruit seed extract helps to restore damaged collagen and elastin, which strengthens and retextures the skin.

As collagen and elastin are responsible for the skins elasticity, improving and stimulating production of the connective tissue cells will prevent skin from tearing and thus prevent the formation of stretch marks. The condition of the skins connective tissue also dictates how well the skin contracts after pregnancy. So not only does this compound improve the condition of your stretching skin, after the delivery it will also aid in the contraction of your skin to its previous appearance.

      DL-Penthenol

DL-Penthenol is the scientific name for pro-vitamin B5. It has healing properties on damaged skin as it works to improve the structure of both the lower and upper skin layers. DL-Panthenol soothes skin while stimulating cell growth and differentiation.

This ingredient aids in the regeneration of the skin, therefore aiding in reducing the appearance of existing stretch marks by replacing the scar tissue with new skin cells. It also acts to prevent stretch marks by promoting collagen and elastin production, which allows your skin to stretch without rupturing and causing stretch marks.

A cream that has shown to be highly effective at preventing stretch marks as well as healing stretch marks that you already have is called Stretch Mark Prevention by Revitol.

Whether you are afraid that stretch marks may be in your future of if they are already a part of your life, a good Stretch Mark Prevention cream is what you will want on your side!

  35. QUESTION:
Question for SKINDOC, Can you please enlighten me with your knowledge?
We all know, clean, tone and moisturize is a must. Every morning and every night. So with that part cleared. I just wanted to see some opinions regarding this thing I want to do.

The thing is I've just realized that I have one brand new anti-wrinkle cream and of course I don't wanna throw it away. It has no SPF so I used to use it during the night. But now I'm using just a moisturizing cream at night + eye cream and an anti-wrinkle moisturizer with SPF18 for daytime.
Would it be convinient if I switched every other night? One night plain moisturizer and one night anti-wrinkle?
The other thing is that the moisturizer is Neutrogena and I consider it of better quality than the Ponds anti-wrinkle cream (which, by the way, it's a little bit heavy... so maybe it wouldn't be great to use it at night since the skin needs to be able to breathe).
On the other hand, I won't die if I use it every other night so I can finish it the bottle, right?

    By the way, I'm 21.

    • ANSWER:
      No you wont die.

  36. QUESTION:
Damaged skin from oxidized vitamin C cream?
I'm only 21. About 7 months ago I purchased some Vitamin C cream to improve the elasticity of the skin on my forehead. Unfortunately the Vitamin C I had purchased had oxidized and I did not find out about this until I had been using it for about half a month, but by that stage the damage was already done.

I now have like hundreds of fine lines/wrinkles all all over my forehead. It looks very unnatural and ugly, especially under natural sunlight. I've been trying just about every product I can get my hands on for the past 6 months to repair the damage, but nothing has worked for me. I have tried the following so far:
    - Lipobase Advanced Night Repair
    - Trilogy rosehip oil
    - Face Protector with vitamins A, E and B5
    - Clarins total Wrinkle Control cream

Just wondering if there are any cosmetic products out there that actually work? Or do I need to look at getting cosmetic surgery?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
Do not worry about it, first make sure that you drink enough amount of water every day, probably it is a matter of dehydration, not lack of Vitamin C, because if you do not drink enough water that will lead into a dry skin which shows all the wrinkles on your forehead, try to use any age-defying products, such as Nevia and Dove, but that will take time, do not panic.

  37. QUESTION:
    Protect and perfect cream..?
Does anyone knows what's in the "Protect & Perfect" Boots cream that made women wait for hours to get their hand on one? I know that everything started after a program about wrinkles creams, i did actually watched the program but i don't remember what they said about this cream or what was in it to make it different and works better then others, i remember something about an ingredient being on the medical side but that's it, can anyone tell me what's that ingredient and what does it do?
    Thanks. Ciao

    • ANSWER:
The active ingredient is Palmitoyl Pentapeptide it's nothing new and most products out there use this within their anti-aging products, there are cells called fibroblasts that are responsible for knitting together wounds of the skin, as you get older skin takes longer to heal, this is because the fibroblasts lose the ability to produce collagen - loss of collagen leads to thinning and loss of elasticity which causes wrinckles. Palmitoyl pentapeptide basically stimulates the skins natural healing, the skin thus produces more collagen so couteracts this thinning and keeps skin elastic.

Women waited hours to get their hands on the cream as it was reported to work after clinical studies - it's the first anti-wrinkle cream to have been tested so it basically means nothing other than that the company were trying to campaign for more transparrent testing and proof of products effectivness, there is no reason why it would work any better than any other product on the market, and every reason why it'd be just as harmful to skins health if you look at the ingredients...Cyclopentasiloxane, Aqua, Butylene glycol, Dimethicone corsspolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, Glycerin, Dimethicone copolyol, Sodium ascorbyl phosphate, Polysorbate 20, Magnesium sulphate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium PCA, Retinyl palmitate, Methylparaben, Propylene glycol, Lupinus albus, Carbomer, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Panax ginseng, Morus alba, Tocopherol, Palmitoyl pentapeptide-3...it's just that women are under so much pressure to stay looking young they are desperate to find something that doesn't actualy exist, a cure to aging. Women would be better off avoiding all these nasty harmful chemicals and just keep to nice healthy skin care.

  38. QUESTION:
What do I do about wrinkly, hairy, nail-bitten hands and toes?
Am I overreacting, or should I do something about my hands (and what should I do)?

At thirteen, I've been biting my nails for about ten years and two years ago my doctor had a look at them and said they're grotesque. They haven't gotten better since. I tried using Sally Hansen creams but I can't commit to them, and my mother said fake nails would ruin my weak nails, what with the condition they're in.

The joints at my fingers are really wrinkly because I've gotten into the habit of balling my hands in fists so no one could see my nails, and now my skin's really stretched and used to being in a fist.

I have a lot of dark black hair on my fingers and hand, and a handful of guys insult me for it (I'm hairier than my brother, and I’m the younger sister, if that tells you anything).

What should I do about my hands (and toes, I suppose, because they’re in the same condition but without wrinkles)?

    • ANSWER:
maybe u should wax your fingers and if u dont then just dont show them that it bothers u they will stop. try painting your nails with clear polish to strengthen them. take calcium too it will help ur nails get stronger... try not to bit your nails!!!! its not good. every time u are bitting your nails think of all the bacteria that is under ur nails that is now going in your mouth that will help u stop. hope i helped :-)

  39. QUESTION:
    Anti-Wrinkles?
Uh, I'm only 15 years old but I already got kinda wrinkles on my forehead and my hands. The one's on my forehead isn't like those supervisible ones, but like if you look a bit closer, you can see them. My wrinkles come from the fact that I lost like...10ish pounds from last year... at least that's what my friends and mom told me.

Is there any creams for anti-wrinkle? I don't want to use any random one because it might mess up my skin, since anti-wrinkle creams aren't usually for my age group...

(BTW, I was about 115ish last year, and now I'm 103...Height: 5'2. Just in case, y'all thought I was obese or anorexic...I'm normal.)
But uhm...I don't know how to reply to the answers...><

Uh...I get tanned a lot from the sun. But I'd rather die then go to a tanning salon or something. But thanks. I'll stay outta the sun...it'll be hard though. I'm an outside person.

    • ANSWER:
I hate to disagree with your friends and Mom, but I don't think those wrinkles are caused from weight loss. I am also 5'2" - have gained and lost 10 lbs on more than a few occasions. This sounds like ultra-violet damage to me. Either tanning salon or sun damage, especially if you are by nature a relatively fair-skinned person (like myself).
My advice, stay out of the sun and away from tanning beds as much as possible. If you must go out, make certain that use use a GOOD sunscreen (30 SPF). If you feel you must tan in salons (I strongly discourage this), then at least use a bed that allows you to turn off the face feature.
If tanning is an issue for you, please consider some of the self-tanners. There are some excellent ones on the market now that don't turn you orange, just make sure you use one suit for your skin tone (I like Neutrogena). By that I mean don't try to go from fair to dark overnight or you'll get that "broange" color that looks so fake.
Now to answer your original question - I like Oil of Olay. It's relatively cheap and works as good as any high dollar moisturizer I've found in High end stores.
      Hope this helps.

Only for people capable of, at least, some form of synapses?

    By the way, I'm 21.
    dear jason14655....

I have nothing to hide. We are not talking about make up here, I just want to have a healthy skin and keep it that way for as long as I can. Is it wrong trying to keep your face in shape?!?! Consider it face "work out"

    • ANSWER:
the only thing i would suggest, even though i know you don't want to throw out what you have, is to start using all natural products on your skin, especially on your face. even though some commercial products claim to be dermatologist tested and mild on your skin, they still contain chemicals, and your face's skin is sensitive! you don't want chemicals smeared all over it.

i use only all natural and or organic products on my face, body & hair. right now, i'm obsessed with Burt's Bees. they have fabulous products using bees wax, almond oil, royal jelly (which is great for anti-aging). and because these are so safe on your skin, you can use them morning, noon & night.

the first time i ever had problems with my skin was when i was 21 ... before that, i always had glorious skin! then one day ... pimple city! using chemicals, even those found in topical medications from my dermatologist, made my skin worse! i still struggle w/ acne, at 31, but since i switched over to all natural products (i've tried EVERYTHING), i have far less breakouts, cause my pores aren't being clogged (even though i'd used commercial products that were noncomodogenic - which weren't supposed to clog my pores - i still broke out).

and please know that a lot of women don't get acne till they're adults. so to keep from developing this problem, i'd switch to something like Burt's Bees.

Eczema really badly dry thick skin HEEELLLLPPP!!!!!!!?
My eczema has gotten really bad to the point that my hands are so dry that they are wrinkly, i go through about 2 tubs up aqueous cream a month and my hands are still really wrinkled, all the creases in my skin are visible to t he extent where all the skini around it is much thicker than anywhere else, same for my arms up to my shoulders. I have used so many creams i could be a tester so i would much appreciate any suggestions anyone has, for creams or treatments etc.

      Hey there!

I've got Eczema pretty bad, as well, but I've been using Desonide cream. I was in the same situation as you are now, with the thickening of skin and all, but this Desonide cream eliminated the thickness in a matter of 3 days (tops!). It'd be perfect for you.

    Right eye cream?
    Hello,
I am 29 but my skin looks like I am much younger.
I recently decided to buy some eye cream for my dark circles and why not, also to prevent crow's feet.
I just bought WRINKLE DE-CREASE COLLAGEN FILLER EYE ILLUMINATOR, because it sounded good but also because was one of the most affordable creams.

I got home and tried it on my hand and I feel like the texture is too thick .... I usually buy the very light ones for younger girls, but I couldn't find anything else at CVS.
I searched and I picked this one because it says it should reduce eye circles (that I have always had and usually cover with make up) and reduces wrinkles, that I don't really have ...

    What should I do?
Do you know of any other cream I could use instead of this one? Something for younger girls, less ... geasy? I feel it's still too greasy/thick for me ...

    Any suggestions?

  44. QUESTION:
what are some things that emo, scene, or hipsters do not like or are interested in?
I'm not trying to be mean in all but, my freshman year was pretty annoying last year like those kind of kids (scene, emo, hipster) they annoyed me because, they knew that I'm not a loud social person who want's attention because, i have aspergers and i don't like to be all over the place and i like having very few friends that are honest, don't make scenes,& can relate to what i've kinda been through. i'm not kidding all of those kids that are (emo, scene, or hipster) are popular and you know how they are. and why they are also annoying is because, almost about most of those girls either try to copy my hairstyle, clothes, or personality. they even either act like they admire me just for being shy (who would want to have social anxiety sorry girls but, it's not as fun as it looks) or having to make this blank/grumpy look to show that i can't be fooled or having some masculine features (shoe size 10, 7 in. long hands, large calves, biceps occasionally seen through jacket, and my voice box kinda sticks out) or they act like I'm actually in their jealousy war when i don't give a crap about the pretty/emo/dark boys since I'm more motivated about grades not dramatic romance besides why would i want to fall for fairy tales, I"M A TOMBOY! but, I'm still growing up. or they'll also try to act annoyed like trying to make that look "I'm more vampire than you!" O_o i don't even like vampires ALL THEY DO IS BITE THEN SUCK BLOOD *disgusting & people who like to be bitten must be masochist*, ACT ANTI-SOCIAL*how is that sweet?*, CLAIM TO BE DEAD JUST FOR BEING PALE *they probably just have insomnia and don't go outside much*, HAVING ETERNAL YOUTH *ever heard of wrinkle cream, steroids, hair die, & chemicals that cure baldness*& TRY TO BE CHARMING BY BEING POETIC *that just makes you sophisticated, but Elizabethan language sounds smarter* but, one of the main reasons i don't like how I'm interesting to trendy people like them is that those kind of people are like energy suckers.
so what can i do to not be eye catching, to be uninteresting, to not look mystical to them *some of them talk to me like i'm an animal or stare at me just for having dark sleepy circles under my eyes*, and to look boring to them.

    • ANSWER:
i hate when people label themselves.

  45. QUESTION:
Should I go mystic tanning instead?
I've been going tanning in a bed for 2 1/2 weeks. for a few hours i get red but then eventually, it turns into a tan and so far i've gotten a light tan and i've gone about 6-10 times already. buut unfortunately, i have freckles and they bother me on my arms and nose. is their tanning lotion to use to prevent freckles? if not, is there any cheap stuff i can buy to help lighten or get rid of them?

also, i've been considering going mystic tanning at a local tanning salon, The Tan Company. one of my friends are 20 and shes gone mystic tanning and says its turned out real good for her, but alot of people i see have turned out orange and/or had streaks on their hands and feet. and im afraid that after i go it will wash off on my clothes by the time i get home, or on my bed when i sleep, or the next day during PE???!!!! WILL IT?!?!?!?! also, if i go 2 o 3 times a week, will i get spots from fading between? or will i get spots at all because i would absolutely HATE that because i've gotten and embarrassing spray tan already, but that was from WALMART. lol! soo orange and streaky! bleeeaaah! weeelll, HELP ME.

    {i already know about skin cancer and damage to the skin but i don't care cuz wen im older i will probably get a face peel and use sum anti wrinkle cream or something?!}

Els lotion: how do I market it? Would you buy it?
My father-in-law has created a product called Els lotion which can be used as an all over moisturiser, day, night, or nourishing cream, face, body, hand and foot lotion, makeup base and cleanser. It prevents premature wrinkles and assists in making skin firmer and more pliable. It's also great for treatment of eczema, dermatitis, wounds, sores, burns, sunburn, rashes, acne and all skin ailments. Would you be willing to try this product? This isn't a scam. It really is as great as it sounds! And how do I market this product? Your input will be greatly appreciated!
Sorry, there are actually 3 different lotions that have all those features between them.

    • ANSWER:
ppl prefer to spend more money on these things than to buy just one product, if this is so much useful, make different packaging containing the same lotion, it's better that ur cream doesn't have more than 2 or 3 uses at a time, for example a package for the day and night cream which is anti wrinkle, another for body and hand cream, another for.... who will understand that they are the same?
by the way I myself prefer to use pretested creams, I mean someone has told me that this is a good one, or those who are famous, or those which really have beautiful packaging and are expensive; and never trust those who say our cream has more than 10 different uses!

You can NEVER ruin your skin applying moisturizers and the things that skin needs to stay healthy with anti-wrinkle creams.
Besides, can you read the topic of the post? It's obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about

    • ANSWER:
OK. I can't go into the whole details but here it is in a nutshell.

Cosmetics like the ones you are talking about are or two type:
      anti-wrinkle and anti-aging. There is a difference.

Anti-wrinkle are basically moisturizers. Some are thin, some are thick. This governs as to how "moisturizing" it is. Anti-aging is another story. Since aging is a natural biological process, those which make this claim must contain something that retards the aging process. In that UV radiations is the primary cause of skin aging, the product (in the US) must contain a recognized ingredient which affects UV damage effects ...meaning a sunscreen.

Moisturizers are designed to affect the water-vapor barrier. That is a biological barrier in the skin that prevents you from leaking like a strainer. Only a small portion or water can get through it. By adding occlusive bariers on the outside, we reduce the amount of water that can travel through the skin. This is why the heavier creams are used at night since our body giving our skin a little more occlusiveness to allow the skin to enjoy the additional moisture.

Bottom line: You can use either one at night. But use one with a sunscreen during the day.

      Hope this helps

  48. QUESTION:
Right back side of hand drys up and breaks into small cuts?
God that title sounded worse then it is. But recently (around a year now) ONLY the backside of my right hand and wrist has been getting dried up and starts to sting, and just a week ago I found out why it's stinging theres small little cuts (slits) in the skin from it being so dry I guess.
Now this comes and goes it's werid, it'll get to the point of stinging then in 3 days it'll be gone, then the next day it's back again.

I have no idea what's causing it, I do use ALOT of soap (like I wash my hands 8 times a day) but I dunno if that it cause my left hand doesn't get it at all. Putting neosporin on the hand helps it alot but that's all I've done so far for it cause I didn't know what it was. I thought it might be food allergys or something but Ive no idea.

I can't afford to go to a doctor really so I'm hoping to find some cream medication to fix this problem and try to diagnose myself, any suggestions on what it could be?

Note: I've read about Eczema and seen alot of pictures, so I really don't think I have this, mine are more like normal slits in the dried up wrinkles of my hand and I only get a few, my skin doesn't get too red also it stays more of it's natural color but it does sting, and it does not itch at all. Also it seems to reoccur in the same spots on my hand over and over I.E the right side of the back of my hand, the lower left corner of my wrist, inbetween my index and middle finger.

It sounds like you need to try using a product called
Corn Huskers Lotion. I know..it is a strange name, but this stuff is the BEST thing to use on dry, chapped and cracking skin (hands and feet especially)
      It is VERY affordable too....
Around .00 at walgreens for a 7 oz bottle. (which usually lasts me 4 months..I use it on hands, arms, legs and feet)..(may cost a little less at walmart)

I have included a link to the reviews from people who have used this product...it is awesome!!
      Good Luck

  49. QUESTION:
    Mosturizing Routine?
We all know, clean, tone and mosturize is a must. Every morning and every night. So with that part cleared. I just wanted to see some opinions regarding this thing I want to do.

The thing is I've just realized that I have one brand new anti-wrinkle cream and of course I don't wanna throw it away. It has no SPF so I used to use it during the night. But now I'm using just a mosturizing cream at night + eye cream and an anti-wrinkle mosturizer with SPF18 for daytime.
Would it be convinient if I switched every other night? One night plain mosturizer and one night anti-wrinkle?
The other thing is that the mosturizer is Neutrogena and I consider it of better quality than the Ponds anti-wrinkle cream (which, by the way, it's a little bit heavy... so maybe it wouldn't be great to use it at night).
On the other hand, I won't die if I use it every other night so I can finish it the bottle, right?

    By the way, I'm 21.

    • ANSWER:
With all do respect, I really think you're wasting your money with the anti-wrinkle cream. I don't use any myself, but I've seen the price of some of it in stores and it's absolutely ridiculous. Think about it - there's no way to tell if it actually works (because you have no "before" to compare to your "after") - unless you only used it on half your face. I think anti-wrinkle creams are one of the biggest rip offs in the beauty industry.

The fact is you're going to get wrinkles eventually - even if you used it every hour of every day, you're bound to have wrinkles by the time you're in your 70s. And just because you don't use it doesn't mean you'll start getting wrinkles in your late twenties.

So I say to just stick with the moisturizer and save your money for more important things - and I'm 23, so don't feel like I'm mothering you. :)
