What Are the Dangers of Parabens in Your Skin Care Products?

 Are parabens bad if they are used in your skin care products? Many moisturizing skin care products use paraben as a preservative in order to give them a longer shelf life.

When we buy skin care products to keep our skin looking youthful, we expect these products to be safe. However, studies have shown parabens may be a carcinogenic that could possibly lead to cancer, and they can also interfere with the body's endocrine system which helps regulate metabolism, tissue function, and your moods. Probably not something we want to mess with.

If this isn't bad enough they can also cause allergic reactions and even skin rashes. Check the ingredients on your products label, parabens can be listed as methyl, propyl, butyl, and ethyl paraben. Do you really want to put this substance on your skin, I think the answer is a resounding no!

If you are like me I think you will agree on the dangers of parabens, and hopefully you will avoid any skin care products that use parabens as one of its ingredients like I do. I don't think we the consumer should care if some company wants to make more money off us by using this ingredient just because it makes it makes the skin care product have a longer shelf life. I think there are many good skin care products on the market that avoid using parabens and other ingredients that can be harmful to our health.
