Skin Aging Factors

Each decade of life brings changes to your skin in two ways, intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic changes are determined by your genetics. Just as the color of your skin, eyes, and hair are preset by your own inherited DNA, so too how your skin ages is in part determined by your DNA.
Some people are graced with fabulous skin genes, and your skin could look young well into your 50s and 60s. Other people are born with skin that wrinkles and sags earlier. While you can't do anyhing about your inborn genetic patterns, later in life, you can avail yourself of a wide variety of scientific and medical solutions to sagging and wrinkles.
You are in control of most extrinsic aging factors. They're caused by the environment and by how you care for your skin. Sun damage can be avoided by using sunscreen. Your daily maintenance rituals of cleasing, toning and moisturizing, or lack of them will make a difference. So will keeping your hands away from breakouts and black heads. Even avoiding frowning and gramicaing can help you control extrensic factors.
Intrinsic factors are caused by your biological and genetic makeup. You were born with a certain type of skin and your DNA determines in part how it ages, your skin tone, and it's overall plumpness and glow. Extrinsic factors that affect skin are caused by the environment, your health, and how you treat your skin. For the most part, you can control the extrinsic factors that affect the condition of your skin.

Skin Aging Factors -
I learned skin care early on from tattoo artists – which was surprising when I first realized that, but it makes sense. Especially since they have no skin care products to sell. Healthy tattoos mean healthy skin overall.
Going to an all-women college with a strong nursing department erased any self-care dilemmas for the next several years, but obviously very few people have that opportunity.
Are you sure that it is the wrinkle on the nose that they are trying to get ride of?? Sometimes DVM's will do corrective surgery of the bottom or top eyelid so the hairs don't scrap the cornea. Pekes are one of the breeds known for having this done. Talk to the vet maybe there was a misunderstanding somewhere. I've never heard of them cutting a wrinkle off of the nose for hair going in to the eyes only trying to keep the eyelids from rolling inward to scratch the eye. If it's really the wrinkle that they are talking about then you definitely need to get a 2nd opinion. Hope I helped some. Good luck
I would go ahead and do the surgery for the eylids so they don't cause any problems. Is there anyway for you to keep the hair short on her wrinkle around her eyes so this isn't an issue?? If not it may be best to have them correct that while she is under as well. Hair scraping on the eyes over time causes irreversable damage and it's best to take care of it before it is a problem. You could still get a second opinion and see if the other vet recomends anything differently. I'm sure that if its that pronounced both vets will say the same thing because it is an issue for the dog that can cause a lot of damage to the eyes. Good luck
