Boost Your Natural Collagen With Sculptra Face Injections

Sculptra is also known as the liquid face lift. It is made from poly-L-lactic acid and is injected into the skin on parts the face where collagen stimulation is required. It is particularly beneficial along the marionette lines from mouth to chin, along the lines from nose to mouth, and along the cheek bones. The injections stimulate the production of collagen, which thickens the skin, thus smoothing out lines and wrinkles and restoring facial contours.

When injected into the cheek bone area, a slight face lift is achieved and combined with the additional fullness of the face, this can reduce the appearance of jowls. Unlike dermal fillers such as Restylane, the results are not instant, and it can take 2 to 3 months to achieve a full effect. Benefits may be seen in approximately 6 weeks. There should be improvements in the deep folds between your nose and mouth, the corners of your mouth, and around the chin. Results may last for up to 2 years.

Sculptra injections should be administered by a trained health care professional. As with any injection, there may be some discomfort, although anesthetic can be mixed in with the contents, this numbs the face and helps to minimize pain. In addition, a local anesthetic cream may be applied prior to having the injections. Sculptra costs may vary depending on your age and severity of wrinkles, and therefore how many treatments are required. You can expect to pay a few hundred pounds for one treatment.

As with any facial injections, there may be some bruising and swelling after treatment. This can be minimized by applying an ice pack before and after treatment. It is also recommended that you avoid alcohol and aspirin for 48 hours before treatment in order to avoid bruising. Small bumps may appear, and in order to prevent these, it is important to follow advice from your health care professional on daily massaging techniques following treatment.

The number of treatments required will depend on your age, how many lines and wrinkles you have, and the results you would like to achieve. Most people require 2-3 treatments, with a gap of 6 weeks between treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Has anyone here gotten treatment with Sculptra? I'm in my late 30's and I have noticed that my entire face has
gotten more drawn and hollow looking. How much would it cost to inject the entire face with Sculptra?

    • ANSWER:
It depends on where you have it done. Sometimes they offer special deals and combo packages if you have it done at a certain time or if you do it in combination with another procedure. Most places offer a free consultation, and they will put a cost package together for you at no charge. I would recommend that you get a free consultation from at least three or four different places and compare the quality of their work and the pricing before making a decision.

It sound difficaul to have low sodium diet.... but it's not that hard.... what i do is i will not take any sodium at all for breakfast and lunch.... but i will eat normal food for dinner.... i am chinese.... so i usually eat white rice with veg soup (no salt).... vegetable has high vitamin c and fat free... or i will have white congee (no salt)..... no instead noodle.... check the sodium contein label for what every you are eating... for dinner i just eat what ever that's not too salty... but i will still stay away from fast food.... i have checked with Mc.xxxxxx, burger kixx, and old man fried chicken..... 5. QUESTION:
Please help! sunken cheeks following dramatic weight loss.?
Am only in twenties and after losing the volume from my cheeks my face looks saggy. Putting weight bak on has not helped. Has anyone tried dermal fillers into cheek area? am not keen to try sculptra. Thanks......

    • ANSWER:
You might want to consider discussing this with a qualified physician. There are several options from collagen, the dermal fillers to cheek implants.

A qualified doctor would need to evaluate your particular situation and give you some suggestions. One thing they will not do surgery if you are a smoker. It is too risky.

There are some really good firming creams on the market that do a great job. You just have to use them everyday. There are exercises that can be done and an item you wear in your mouth several hours a day that help too.

If you have the finances, getting a good facial every once or twice a month will tone it up too. You really need to check all your options. Good Luck and I am sure you will find the right treatment that is best for you.
